Car Pick Up

Be sure to make arrangements to pick up your vehicle! We are close to the airport, but we do not offer Park and Zoom services with repairs! We charge a storage fee of $58/day for vehicles left more than 48 hours after work has been completed.

A Note From Metro, With Love

We adore old cars! We also know we love keeping them running long past when the manufacturer intends they should. But here’s the truth every mechanic knows, and we want you to know it too: Nothing gets younger, and everything’s connected. Sometimes, in the process of fixing the thing we came to fix, a neighboring part that’s been quietly hanging on for years decides it has had enough. That’s not a mistake on our end.  That is what happens when metal, rubber, and time spend decades together.

Our workmanship is always our responsibility, no question. We stand behind our work. But your car’s age and its own history of wear is between you and the vehicle. We are here to help you two keep the relationship going. We will always tell you what we find and what we recommend, and we’ll always treat your car with care, because we do. And like we said, we love keeping old cars on the road. It’s a primary value at METRO.

We’re in this together. Let’s keep her on the road.

A Note on Unclaimed Vehicles

We hold onto every car in our care like it’s our own, but our lot isn’t a storage unit. If a vehicle is left with us past an agreed pickup date without payment or communication, we’re required by Alaska law to treat it as abandoned, which can mean filing a lien and, eventually, selling the vehicle to recover our costs. We’ll always try to reach you first. We’d much rather hand you your keys than a certified letter.
